Stockholm Rock Out announced today that Jani Lane, formerly of Warrant, will no longer headline the Friday, April 30, festival date due to scheduling conflicts. Instead, KIX and Great White have been added for exclusive European performances.
“Fans will not be disappointed,” Stockholm Rock Out’s Chris LeMon said. “This will be the first time ever KIX has played Scandinavia. Great White is celebrating 25 years of making blues rock together. Both bands will play their hits. This is the only place to see them in Europe.”
Known for such hits as “Don’t Close Your Eyes,” “Cold Blood,” “Blow My Fuse” and many more, a KIX live show is fervor of musicality and raw rock. KIX reigns as the world-famous Rocklahoma’s “Best Performance” (2008, 2009). They continue to share the stage with rock’s iconic performers – Judas Priest, Twisted Sister, RATT, The Scorpions and a slew of others. Since 1978 this Maryland-bred, five-piece outfit featuring original members Steve Whiteman (lead vocals), Ronnie Younkins (guitar), Brian Forsythe (guitar), Jimmy Chalfant (drums) as well as bassist Mark Schenker, has never backed down.
Great White emerged on the hard rock scene in 1978 and continues to sell out shows worldwide. Best known for the 1989 smash “Once Bitten, Twice Shy,” charting the rock waters is second-hand nature to this California-based band. With each show and record, the grit and blues-hued sound persists. What hasn’t faulted is the shear energy each live performance of “Stick It,” “Mista Bone,” “The Angel Song” and others proclaim. Approaching 10 million albums sold, Great White, featuring original members Jack Russell (vocals), Mark Kendall (guitar), Michael Lardie (guitar, keyboards), Audie Desbrow (drums) and new bassist Scott Snyder, continues to release potent collections – evident from their first shows at the Troubador- to rock’s largest festivals.
The Stockholm Rock Out is Friday, April 30, through Saturday, May 1. Rock’s biggest names from the 80s have confirmed – Dizzy Reed of Guns N’ Roses, XYZ, Bullet Boys, Pretty Boy Floyd, Slaughter, Steelheart, TUFF and more.
